“After moving out of the restaurant industry, I was working as a delivery driver when a friend introduced me to the Health Care Assistant HCAP program through Ocean Front Village. I became excited about the opportunity and, after doing some research, felt even more motivated to apply. Soon after completing the required paperwork, I was accepted into the program.

Beyond the theoretical knowledge, the program gave me a deeper understanding of the health care industry and the best practices to follow while working in this field. It also helped me realize how vital this role is in healthcare. During the program, I had the opportunity to meet many individuals who have long been part of the industry, and learning from their experiences and stories was truly a privilege.

Although I was unsure at the beginning, completing the program through Discovery Community College has made me more confident in my role. Today, I feel proud of myself and deeply appreciative of the entire healthcare community for the important work they do. I am grateful to the college, instructors, and mentors who have supported and shaped me along this journey.”
