“First, I would like to say thank you for the opportunity that was given to me and the rest of my classmates in attending the funded program.

I have been in sales and management for the past 10 years within retail and I was at the point of not wanting to go to work I felt like I was not contributing to society.

I was talking with my friends about a change for myself but I wanted it to mean something but had no clue how to go about anything, and there it was I Facebook post that I saw, and took a shot.  It was the best choice I made in long time.

I only had a grade nine education when I looked into Discovery Community College (DCC) and they helped me get what I needed to join the rest of the class.  I have learned so much about myself and am proud to say I feel my life has changed in so many ways.

So far everyone that I have come across in this field said it is like I was made for this and will go far, and none of that would be possible if you didn’t put your faith in DCC and me.

So I thank you for believing in me and in the rest of us students I owe you my new beginning and I will repay that back by doing my best and achieving my goals.”
