Free Training Programs
Career Training Offered at No Cost
In partnership with community partners (including AWARE Society, Self Rise Training Society, BC Career Colleges Association and more), Discovery Community College has been able to provide 100% government-funded skills training to eligible participants.
These programs are community and market-driven, and focused on professional development. During the program, learners will receive essential skills & training for industry-specific work needed in their local community. These training grants have included Project Based Labour Market Training, Employer Training Grants, and Community Workforce Response Grant initiatives.
Discovery Community College is regulated by the Ministry of Advanced Education.

Social Service Worker and Community Mental Health (September 18, 2023)
The FREE Social Service Worker & Community Mental Health program is available to eligible BC residents who are either unemployed or have precarious employment, and who are looking to become a front line worker via the Community Workforce Response Grant.

In partnership with AWARE Society, Discovery Community College is offering a Project Based Labour Market Training Program that will prepare you for a career as a Teacher’s Assistant. Gain the skills to support students with special and diverse learning needs.

Chairside Dental Assistant (November 14, 2023)
In partnership with AWARE Society, Discovery Community College is offering a Project Based Labour Market Training Program that will prepare you for a career as a Chairside Dental Assistant. As an integral part of the dental practice, you will gain the skills to perform both administrative office tasks and assist dentists directly with patient care.
