North Island “Campus Crusaders” Raise Funds for Cancer Research

Donations and Team Members for Campus Crusaders Team are Welcome

A team of our Campbell River staff is pounding the pavement to raise money for cancer research and support. The “Campus Crusaders” will be taking part in Relay for Life on June 17th at Phoenix Middle School in Campbell River.

Campus Manager Jennifer Aspden, instructor Don Cowper and Amanda Rogers have signed up for the 6-hour relay walk, and there’s still time to add your name to the team or pledge your support. The Relay for Life is designed to be a fun event more than an athletic one – people of all ages sign up, and the relay is as much a party as it is a fundraising event.

From its start in 1998, the Relay for Life has grown to raise over $34 million for the Canadian Cancer Society, and now takes place in over 330 communities across Canada.

To donate or to join the team, go to the Campus Crusaders page on the Relay for Life website. Or to cheer them on, go to Phoenix Middle School, 400 7th Avenue in Campbell River. The Relay will run between 6 pm and midnight on Friday, June 17th.

We wish the Campus Crusaders a ton of fun and support!
