“After spending ten years working at a reforestation nursery, I felt called to pursue a career that would allow me to make a direct difference in people’s lives. My interest in dementia care inspired me to return to school and enroll in the Health Care Assistant program at Discovery Community College.

Leaving my comfort zone was not easy, but DCC gave me the confidence to succeed. Finishing the theory portion of the program with a 99% average showed me that I was capable of achieving more than I ever imagined. Along the way, I gained valuable knowledge, confidence, and a renewed sense of purpose. I encourage anyone considering further education to take the opportunity and invest in themselves and their future.”
