Program Overview

We’re pleased to announce the launch of Discovery Community College’s latest program as part of our dedication to offering the most up-to-date training and career opportunities to our students. Each of the sections within the Web Coding and Design Program is organized to prepare participants with the hands-on training, skills, knowledge, and attitudes that will enable them to work as commercial web developers and designers. Prior to taking this program, students should learn as much as possible about this career and should have some experience with Microsoft Windows based computers, elements of design, and web coding. Also, a background of studies or experience in either business, project management, communications, design, layout, marketing, promotions, or administration is recommended. The curriculum is balanced across all of the core industry technologies and students are expected to apply all of their newly learned skills to their class projects, from design to coding to programming to client interaction and project management.

Admission Requirements

• Grade 12/GED OR mature student status. Applicants must successfully complete and submit all application forms and entrance assessments.

• Successful completion of a Discovery Community College entrance exam covering basic communication and simple mathematical calculation skills as well as Microsoft Windows based computer navigation skills. This exam will not cover any web or graphics related materials. A pass mark of 70% is required.

• International students must have a minimum TOEFL score of 480 or TOEIC score of 650 or equivalent, valid study permit and passport, and medical insurance.
